PRODUCT REVIEW : Moringa Leaf Co’s Moringa Leaf Powder
I was invited to review Moringa Leaf Powder, to be honest I was initially sceptical, as I have tried green powders, such as spirulina before. Spirulina tasted disgusting on its own and made anything you added it to taste disgusting too.
It arrived in early Summer. As you will see from the packaging, it boasts a host of naturally occurring nutrients (92) half of which are antioxidants, that help our bodies to thrive…it’s a superfood that boosts our health. It’s also free of additives and other nasties, that, in our pursuit of ultimate health, we try to avoid.
What is Moringa Leaf? Moringa is also known as the “drumstrick tree” and is a drought resistant plant, most commonly grown in the foothills of the Himalayas. All parts of the plant can be used in some way, including the seed pods and kernels (the extracted oil can be used for water purification). The leaves (in this case) are harvested, dried and crushed into a powder.
So what can the powder be used for – most commonly it is added to soups and sauces, but can also be added to juices and smoothies. It is not advisable to drink it on its own in water, as it has a very strong leafy taste, that is unpleasant.
What did I find? So far I have been using it on an almost daily basis for around 4 months, adding it to my juices and soups. On average, when I make a juice or soup, I make sufficient for 3 servings. To each juice or soup that I make, I add one rounded dessertspoon of Moringa Leaf Co’s Moringa Leaf Powder – that is approximately one rounded teaspoon per serving. This is the recommended serving per day and I have found it to be quite beneficial to my health.
Benefits that I have found : I have more energy and feel more alert; I have lost weight (although I was a healthy weight and did not need to lose any, I still had those tough to shift “wobbly” bits around my stomach and hips) and my body has toned; I have lost around an inch off my waist; most impressively, I have found that patches of itchy dry skin on my elbows, knees and lower back that I have endured for the last 30 years, have all but cleared up (I have tried all sorts of things to get rid of these over the years including steroid cream and other lotions (before my “Eureka!” moment several years ago when I changed my lifestyle) as well as completely overhauling my diet and lifestyle, but none of these worked).
Can I put all of this down to the Moringa Leaf Powder – I am a Nutritional Therapist and not a scientist and therefore cannot say for sure, but my health has certainly improved since I started using it. Around one month after I started using the powder, I switched from a vegetarian diet to a vegan diet and therefore cut out all dairy etc, I also extremely rarely eat bread of any type nowadays and therefore my gluten intake has vastly reduced as well. These two dietary changes may well have also contributed to some extent to my health and body changes, but in what ratios I cannot say.
Suffice to say, Moringa Leaf Powder has helped, in some way, towards a better me – better health, better shape, better skin – and I shall continue to use it as a supplement in my juices, smoothies and soups, in order to maintain the positive effects that it has shown. It does not taint their flavour in any way, in fact you only know that you are consuming it, because you have physically added it yourself. It blends well into whatever you decide to add it to and it does not turn into powdery lumps as many powders might. Highly recommended! [To order click on the link in the title]

I agree about spirulina! But I too find moringa leaf powder easy to consume and use it in my blended juices and smoothies on a regular basis. I’m glad you find it beneficial; as a fellow sufferer, I know how debilitating it hy skin is and dietary changes certainly helped me.
